Grant Description

The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida offers Small Organization Grants to support grassroots nonprofit organizations with annual operating budgets of $150,000 or less. These one-time grants, capped at $2,500, aim to strengthen small organizations or develop programs addressing community needs. Eligible nonprofits must have 501(c)(3) status, at least two years of work history, and operate within Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, or St. Johns counties. Funding is available for projects occurring between March 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026. The grants typically support focus areas such as neighborhood improvement, unmet basic needs like hunger and clothing, nonprofit capacity building (including training and coaching), enrichment activities for under-resourced children and youth, and initiatives promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Faith-based organizations may apply, provided the proposed programs serve the broader community and are non-religious in nature. Applications are now open and must be submitted by January 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Assistance with the application process is available from December 9, 2024, to January 24, 2025, through in-person, virtual, or phone appointments. Applicants are encouraged to review the detailed "How to Apply" guide provided by the Foundation to ensure their submissions meet all criteria. The Foundation does not fund athletic associations, fundraising event sponsorships, programs promoting religious beliefs, schools, school-affiliated organizations, or projects outside the specified counties. Notifications of grant decisions will be issued on March 1, 2025. For additional information or support, applicants can contact Janet Allen, Program Director, at jallen@jaxcf.org, or Reagan Bass, Program Officer, at rbass@jaxcf.org. The program offers a valuable opportunity for small nonprofits to enhance their impact and address critical community needs.
