Catalyst Empowerment Grant Program

The Genesis for Good Foundation, in collaboration with Genesis Bank and the Genesis Bank Institute for Entrepreneurship, has announced the first round of grant awards under its Catalyst Empowerment Grant Program. This initiative aims to empower historically underserved and underinvested small businesses and entrepreneurs across Southern California by offering access to resources, education, networking, and capital. Each grant provides up to $10,000 to qualifying small businesses, with applications accepted on a rolling basis. Five businesses were selected in this initial round based on their entrepreneurial passion, track record, and commitment to community impact. The grant recipients include: Gutierrez Chiropractic Inc., awarded funds to expand marketing and digital advertising efforts to raise awareness about its broad range of chiropractic care services. Prisma Communications, receiving support to invest in video production equipment and technology, enhancing its public relations and multimedia capabilities. San & Wolves Bakeshop, the first vegan Filipino bakery, using the grant to purchase baking equipment to improve efficiency and production as it prepares to open a brick-and-mortar store. Spark Studios, leveraging the funds to renovate its photography studio and acquire new equipment, enhancing its services for business owners and creatives. Vinos Unidos, a vintner and wine distributor, utilizing the grant to bolster its digital content, social media, and marketing strategies to increase brand visibility. The program aligns with Genesis Bank’s mission as one of only five multiracial Minority Depository Institutions in the U.S., aiming to enhance economic mobility and create lasting community impacts. The initiative is supported by contributions from Fiserv Inc., the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, and CVB Financial Corp., among others.
