Grant Description

The Neighborhood Engagement Grant from the City of Centennial is designed to support local community-building initiatives by offering financial assistance to residents, Home Owner Associations (HOAs), and community organizations. The purpose of this program is to encourage social cohesion and community involvement through events such as neighborhood block parties, movie nights, and other social gatherings that bring together a broad segment of Centennial’s population. The program provides up to $500 per event and is open to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are exhausted. The grant application period opened on April 1, 2025, and will remain open as long as funds are available. Only two grants will be awarded per community, and applicants are required to submit their application at least 30 days before their planned event. Eligible events must take place within the City of Centennial and be inclusive, meaning they should be open to a broad range of residents in the area. Events must comply with all city codes and regulations, and applicants must indicate whether any special permits are needed, such as for amplified sound or street closures. Importantly, while permit fees will be waived, applicants must still secure the required permits in accordance with city guidelines. Applications must include a detailed event description, including the impact on community engagement, beautification, and improvement. The application should also contain logistical details like date, time, and location of the event, and a communication plan for ensuring residents are informed and in agreement. Additionally, applicants must provide the name and contact information for the person responsible for submitting receipts for reimbursements. Events associated with private, educational, political, or religious organizations are not eligible. The funding also cannot be used for private events or to purchase alcohol or controlled substances. Only one grant will be awarded per event to prevent overlapping applications for the same function.
