Grant Description

The City of Lawrenceburg Community Grant Program (LCGP) is an initiative funded by the City of Lawrenceburg and administered by the Dearborn Community Foundation. It aims to support nonprofit, IRS-recognized tax-exempt organizations that offer services or benefits—either directly or indirectly—to the Lawrenceburg community and broader Dearborn County. This grant program is intended to stimulate new projects and initiatives that benefit the local community, rather than sustain existing or ongoing programs. The LCGP is structured into two distinct phases to accommodate varying levels of funding requests. Phase I targets smaller projects, allowing for grant requests up to $5,000. A total of $100,000 is allocated for Phase I each year. Grant applications for Phase I will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted. The 2025 application deadlines for Phase I are February 3, June 2, and October 6, with all applications due by 4:00 PM on the respective date. Phase II supports larger initiatives with grant amounts ranging from $5,001 to $100,000. These applications are also reviewed on a rolling basis as long as funding is available. The deadlines for Phase II in 2025 are April 2 and August 4, also with a 4:00 PM cutoff on the application due dates. The combined maximum award per organization across both phases is $100,000 per calendar year. Specific funding restrictions apply to this program. Notably, grant funds may not be used for ongoing projects or programs, and organizations are prohibited from applying for property improvements such as buildings or fencing on land they do not own. These stipulations ensure that funding supports new, well-defined, and community-beneficial activities with clear ownership and sustainability pathways. The Dearborn Community Foundation encourages interested organizations to contact its office with any questions about eligibility or the grant process. The Foundation is located at 322 Walnut Street, Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025, and can be reached by phone at (812) 539-4115.
