- Eligible organizations must focus their efforts primarily within Utah, have a history of effectiveness and good management, and propose projects or programs that align with the Foundation's focus areas. The Foundation does not consider funding requests from organizations without 501(c)(3) status (unless they are government units), other private foundations, political organizations, conduit organizations, or for projects that do not fall within its specified areas of interest. - The grant application process begins with a Letter of Inquiry through the Foundation's online portal, followed by a full Grant Application Form upon approval. Decisions are generally made within 90 days at a quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors. The Foundation emphasizes the importance of collaboration, distinctive contribution to the community, and financial sustainability from a variety of sources.
