America 250-Ohio Grants Program

The America 250-Ohio Grants Program offers funding for local communities in Ohio to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with activities that align with statewide America 250-Ohio programs. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to designated "America 250-Ohio Communities," supporting projects in Storytelling and Education (Next Generation Citizens). These initiatives aim to supplement statewide programming and extend educational outreach into all 88 Ohio counties. Eligible applicants must represent communities designated as America 250-Ohio Communities by January 31, 2025. Communities can be registered at the America 250-Ohio website. Applications must include a letter of support from the local government entity (village, township, city, or county). A single application per community is allowed, and collaboration among multiple organizations within the community is encouraged. Either a local government entity or a nonprofit organization in good standing can serve as the applicant. Grants will prioritize smaller communities and those not funded in previous America 250-Ohio grant cycles. The period of performance for funded projects is April 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026. A total of $250,000 to $275,000 is expected to be awarded, with funding available for up to 55 communities. Matching funds are not required. This round of grants seeks to amplify the reach and impact of America 250-Ohio initiatives, particularly through local storytelling and educational programming.
