Women's Fund of Weld County Grant

The Women's Fund of Weld County offers an annual grant opportunity aimed at funding programs that address unmet needs of women and girls in Weld County, Colorado. The fund operates as part of the Community Foundation and is sustained by an endowment whose income is distributed to provide long-term support for these populations. The fund's mission is to enable women and girls to become self-confident, independent, and economically self-sufficient members of the community. The fund awards grants to nonprofit organizations that are 501(c)(3) tax-exempt or equivalent. The maximum available grant per cycle is $7,500. The focus of funding is on programs that support girls' futures and women's and girls' education, employment, training, and self-development. Organizations located outside Weld County may apply if their programs directly benefit women and girls residing in Weld County. Grant proposals that do not align with these criteria are not considered. Applications are accepted annually from June 1 through July 31. The Grants Committee begins reviewing submissions starting July 15. If clarifications are needed, applicants will be contacted in August and September. Notifications of awards are issued in October or November, with funds disbursed in December. Required submission materials include a grant application (available online during the open period), a project budget worksheet (specific form required), a grant evaluation form for reapplying grantees, and 501(c)(3) documentation. Evaluation criteria include potential impact on women and girls, alignment with fund priorities, quality and need of the project, involvement of diverse communities, innovation, sustainability, and measurable outcomes. The fund does not support pass-through grants, endowments, debt reduction, political activities, religious programming, capital improvements, individual scholarships, fundraisers, personal use, or ongoing staff salaries.
