Grant Description

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is offering funding under the Title I – Migrant Education: Summer Migrant Education Program for FY 2025. This program aims to provide supplemental educational and support services to migratory children and youth (ages 0–21) who face significant educational disruptions due to their migratory lifestyle. The program seeks to enhance educational opportunities, focusing on areas such as school readiness, reading, mathematics, high school graduation, and services for out-of-school youth. These services are delivered through comprehensive summer school programs and ancillary support tailored to the needs of migratory students and families. Eligible applicants include public school districts, nonprofit organizations, public institutions of higher education, regional education offices, and other entities serving eligible migratory populations. Programs are required to align with the Illinois Migrant Education Program Service Delivery Plan and adhere to federal guidelines under Title I, Part C of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Grant funding is provided on a reimbursement basis, and projects must be implemented between April 1, 2025, and August 31, 2025.
