Grant Description

The American Spaces Grant Funding 2025 is a cooperative agreement opportunity administered by the U.S. Embassy in Rabat, Morocco under the FY25 Fulbright-Hays Public Diplomacy Funds. The initiative focuses on engaging Moroccan youth aged 18 to 30 in cultural and educational exchanges that highlight American excellence and values. Programs are hosted at American Spaces in Morocco, offering a platform for promoting mutual understanding between the United States and Morocco. The funding opportunity supports programming in four key areas: English language learning, digital transformation, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), and the creative economy. These themes are designed to provide participants with skill-building experiences that encourage cultural exchange, expand professional development, and strengthen ties between Moroccan and American individuals and institutions. Programs are expected to be primarily in-person, with the possibility of virtual components to broaden outreach. Applicants may be Moroccan citizens or organizations, including registered public or private non-profits, cultural or educational institutions, or individuals. While U.S. applicants are also eligible, preference is given to Moroccan organizations or partnerships that enhance the capacity of Moroccan NGOs. Only one application is permitted per organization. All organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and active SAM.gov registration. Cost-sharing is not required. Individuals are exempt from UEI and SAM.gov requirements. Applications must include completed federal forms (SF-424 series), a 10-page project proposal, a detailed budget, resumes for key personnel, organizational documents, and letters of support. Key elements of the proposal include a monthly activity calendar, recruitment strategies, integration of American components, and a robust monitoring and evaluation plan. The proposal must be submitted electronically to RabatGrants@state.gov by July 31, 2025, at 23:59 GMT+1. Evaluation criteria emphasize the quality and feasibility of the project idea, organizational capacity, effectiveness of the planning, clarity of the budget, sustainability of the program, and the quality of the monitoring and evaluation plan. Award notices will be sent by October 10, 2025, and selected recipients may begin project activities starting October 1, 2025. The expected project duration is eight to ten months, with three awards anticipated ranging from $40,000 to $120,000, totaling $123,000 in available funding. The grant contact is reachable at RabatGrants@state.gov for inquiries. Applicants are advised to initiate SAM.gov registration early due to processing times. The U.S. Embassy will have substantial involvement in the implementation of awarded projects, including approval of programming details and assistance in identifying speakers and participants. Award funds must not be used for purposes such as migration advocacy or for purchasing alcoholic beverages.
