FKCA Special Project Grant

The Special Projects Grant is a funding initiative managed by the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, specifically designed to support innovative and vital arts projects that fall outside the scope of the Council's standard grant programs. Targeted toward individual artists and arts organizations within Monroe County, Florida, this grant provides short-term financial support for creative endeavors that contribute to the cultural landscape of the Florida Keys. Grants are offered up to a maximum of $2,000 per project. While this is the typical cap, requests exceeding $2,000 may be considered, contingent upon available funding at the time of the request. This grant is available only once every three years per applicant, ensuring that funds are equitably distributed and new applicants can benefit. The project funded through this grant must be completed within one year of receiving the award. The application process includes completing an online application form. If awarded, the grant is disbursed on a reimbursement basis following submission of a final project report. This report must include documentation such as written summaries and photographs demonstrating the completion and impact of the project. Recipients must also acknowledge the support of the Florida Keys Council of the Arts and affiliated funders in all publicity materials. The required credit line must include acknowledgment of support from the State of Florida, the Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, the National Endowment for the Arts, and private donors. Application deadlines occur twice annually, on June 30 and November 30.
