Grant Description

This funding opportunity aims to support New York City-based nonprofits that primarily serve communities of color and demonstrate a commitment to providing culturally competent services. Grants range from $35,000 to $45,000, with amounts determined by organizational budget size. Applications must be submitted by November 12, 2024. The primary objective of the CCNSF grant is to assist organizations in identifying and addressing their most pressing organizational needs. Funding is available for projects in seven key areas: management information systems design and development, financial management and planning, evaluation and outcomes system development, leadership development, new program planning and development, strategy and organizational development, and collaboration and strategic alliances. Organizations that have previously received funding for a specific project area may not apply for the same area again. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. They must have been incorporated for at least two years, maintain a minimum operating budget of $150,000 and a maximum of $3.5 million, and be based in New York City, serving a population where 51% or more identify as people of color. Additionally, organizations must demonstrate a commitment to equal employment opportunities, culturally competent service delivery, and recruitment of diverse leadership. Registration in PASSPort and HHS Accelerator is mandatory, and fiscal sponsor arrangements are not permitted. Applicants must submit complete documentation, including proof of registration with the New York State Charities Bureau, a history of community service in New York City, and evidence of meeting the eligibility criteria. Organizations should review the RFA and prepare detailed proposals outlining their project objectives, timeline, and intended outcomes in alignment with the CCNSF's capacity-building goals. The evaluation criteria for grant awards will prioritize the organization's demonstrated capacity to address community needs, its alignment with the grant’s focus areas, and its ability to deliver results effectively and efficiently. A history of successful outreach and service delivery to communities of color will also be an important factor in the review process.
