Grant Description

The Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness, facilitated by the Thomas Scattergood Foundation, is a participatory grantmaking program designed to support immigrant- and refugee-serving organizations in Southeastern Pennsylvania. This initiative funds projects that improve mental health and wellness through culturally centered strategies while shifting the traditional philanthropic power dynamic by placing decision-making authority in the hands of immigrant communities themselves. The fund emphasizes a capacity-building approach, investing in organizations that remove barriers and create pathways for immigrants and refugees to live with dignity and joy. Eligible applicants must either be 501(c)(3) organizations or have a qualifying fiscal sponsor, be based in the Greater Philadelphia region (specifically Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia Counties), and have an annual budget of $10 million or less. They must also have missions explicitly serving immigrant and/or refugee communities. In the evaluation process, special consideration is given to how an organization demonstrates immigrant representation and leadership within its board and executive team. The fund values asset-driven programming and a deep connection to the lived experience and expertise of immigrant populations. The 2025 grant cycle opens on March 4, 2025, and closes on April 10, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. ET. An informational session will be held on March 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. ET, and applicants are encouraged to attend. The review and due diligence period runs from April through June 2025, with applicants notified of their award status in June 2025. Grant payments and implementation begin in July 2025, with a grant period extending through June 2026.
