2025 Community Impact Fund
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in ten Texas counties that focus on improving community well-being through initiatives in Arts & Culture, Basic Needs, Environment, and Youth Development.
The Community Impact Fund, administered by The Community Foundation, is a competitive grant opportunity with an annual deadline designed to support nonprofits that serve communities within ten counties in Texas. The Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the Hill Country through strategic investments in nonprofit organizations focusing on Arts & Culture, Basic Needs, Environment, and Youth Development. The Foundation offers both general operating support and program-specific funding, aiming to back organizations with sound governance and proven or potential impact. Prior grant recipients may reapply upon submitting the required final grant evaluation report. Eligible applicants must be classified as 501(c)(3) nonprofits by the IRS and have a minimum of twelve months of operating history post-IRS designation. All members of the applicant's board must have contributed a personal cash donation in the prior fiscal year. Organizations must also submit financial statements based on the size of their annual budget: unaudited statements for budgets under $350,000, CPA-reviewed statements for budgets between $350,000 and $749,999, and CPA-audited statements for budgets of $750,000 and above, all conducted within the past 36 months. Funding requests may not exceed $15,000. Applicants must select between general operating support, which requires a current strategic plan covering at least two years, and program support, which requires a detailed program budget. The Fund does not support capital campaigns, endowments, special events, retroactive funding, individual grants, re-granting, multi-year projects, research, scholarships, or travel. Additionally, organizations must align with one of the four designated focus areas to be eligible. Applications are evaluated on their alignment with focus areas, fiscal and strategic soundness, demonstrated or potential impact, collaborative efforts, evaluation methodologies, and program uniqueness. Specific metrics are used to evaluate each focus area, such as audience participation and diversity for Arts & Culture, number of unduplicated residents served and collaborative documentation for Basic Needs and Environment, and supportive environments and engagement levels for Youth Development. The 2025 application cycle opens on May 20, 2025, with completed applications due by June 20, 2025, at noon. Applications must be submitted online and must include all required documentation. Grants are not awarded on a rolling basis, and all deadlines are strictly enforced. For assistance, applicants may contact Ingrid Cunyus, the Grants & Scholarships Manager, at 830-896-8811 or via email at ingrid@communityfoundation.net.
