Humanities Connections

The Humanities Connections program, offered by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), aims to expand the role of humanities in undergraduate education by fostering partnerships between humanities faculty and faculty in other academic disciplines. This grant supports both the planning and implementation of curriculum projects that integrate humanities with fields such as the sciences, law, business, and technology. Eligible projects must involve collaboration between faculty from both humanities and non-humanities disciplines to design and deliver interdisciplinary coursework. The goals are to promote long-term curricular pathways such as minors or general education programs at two- and four-year institutions. Planning grants offer up to $50,000, while implementation grants provide up to $150,000, with project timelines ranging from 12 to 36 months. Applicants should demonstrate how their project will enhance the integration of humanities into the institution's curriculum and facilitate sustainable collaboration between departments. The next anticipated application deadline is September 4, 2025, with project start dates in mid-2026. Draft proposals may be submitted for feedback by July 25, 2024.
