Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE): Student Support Service: Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) State Grants
This grant provides funding to support programs that help students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, prepare for and succeed in postsecondary education.
The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a virtual and in-person open meeting of the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB) to provide updates on energy policies, basic and applied research activities, and related national security and economic strategies. This meeting, scheduled for December 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EDT, will include public participation. Participants can register for virtual access, and SEAB members may attend in person at DOE headquarters in Washington, D.C. The agenda for the meeting includes remarks from the SEAB Chair and the Secretary of Energy, a discussion on the SEAB report addressing artificial intelligence and permitting, public comments, and a presentation on SEAB’s accomplishments. Interested parties may contribute through public comments during the session or by submitting written statements ahead of the meeting. Registration for public commentary must be completed by December 3, 2024. The SEAB was established to advise the Secretary on energy policies and DOE programs, fostering innovation and coordination across its research, development, and policy directives. The meeting will also serve as an opportunity for the public to engage with SEAB on energy initiatives. Relevant materials and minutes from the meeting will be available online on the DOE SEAB website. For further information or accommodations, individuals can contact David Borak at DOE or email SEAB at the provided contact details. This meeting aligns with DOE’s ongoing commitment to transparency, collaboration, and engagement with stakeholders and the public.
