2025 Tourism Business Development Grants

The Delaware County Tourism Promotion and Development Grant Program is funded through the Delaware County Occupancy Tax, which was enacted by the Delaware County Board of Supervisors. The purpose of this funding stream is to support the tourism industry in Delaware County by promoting economic growth, increasing visitor numbers, and investing in infrastructure projects that further develop the sector. Funds raised through the occupancy tax are allocated to programs designed to enhance tourism and support capital investments that benefit the industry. This program provides financial assistance to initiatives proposed by the Tourism Promotion Agency of Delaware County. The funding supports specific program activities that are distinct from the agency’s general operating budget. Grants are awarded based on recommendations from the Tourism Advisory Board and require approval from the Delaware County Board of Supervisors. Only applications that receive both approvals will be funded, regardless of available funds. For the 2025 funding cycle, Delaware County Economic Development has announced two types of grants: the Tourism Promotion Grant for Non-Profits and the Tourism Business Development Grants. Under the Tourism Promotion Grant for Non-Profits, eligible organizations can apply for funding in various categories, including Arts & Culture ($1,200 per project), Community Celebrations ($1,200 per project), Promotions & Marketing ($5,000 per project), Capital Improvements ($5,000 per project), and Major Capital Improvements ($25,000 per project). Major Capital Improvement grants are limited to one or two large-scale projects and require additional documentation. The Tourism Business Development Grants are designed to support tourism-related businesses with funding opportunities in specific categories. These include Code Compliance Assistance ($1,000 per project), Business Cooperative Promotions & Marketing ($2,500 per project), and Lodging Business Capital Improvement ($10,000 per project). These grants aim to enhance the quality and sustainability of businesses that contribute to the tourism sector in Delaware County. Applications for the 2025 funding cycle are due no later than 5:00 PM EST on February 28, 2025.
