Grant Description

The ROCORI Area Community Builder Grants, administered by the ROCORI Area Community Foundation (RACF), are designed to support initiatives that bring about meaningful, long-term change in the ROCORI area. These grants are intended to help build strong community partnerships and advance impactful projects and programs. The grant program is open for applications from March 1, 2025, until April 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., and funding decisions are made within 90 days following the deadline. RACF provides grants for a variety of eligible activities, including new or expanded programs, capital projects, and other strategic investments aimed at lasting community benefit. Funding amounts typically range from $500 to $5,000. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, schools, and government entities operating within the ROCORI area, which includes the cities of Rockville, Cold Spring, and Richmond, as well as an approximate five-mile radius around each city. The grant prioritizes focus areas such as education (especially K-12 and after-school programs), social services (supporting families, children, and youth), arts and culture (enhancing appreciation of diverse cultures), and civic engagement (promoting and preserving community life). Projects that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion are especially encouraged. Favorable considerations are given to proposals that demonstrate a sustainable positive community impact, build collaborative efforts, improve quality of life, and have the potential to inspire further investment. However, the program does not fund individuals, religious activities, political organizations, endowments, debt retirement, scholarships, medical research, travel or conferences, or previously completed projects. Applications must be submitted through the CommunityGiving Grant Management System. The process includes review by a Grant Advisory Committee, followed by final funding decisions made by the Board of Directors. Notifications and communications regarding the grant are conducted through email. Grant awards are disbursed upon receipt of an electronically signed Grant Agreement, and recipients must also submit a Final Report. A Progress Report may be required upon request. For inquiries or assistance with the grant system, applicants can call (320) 257-9715.
