SBIR/STTR Match Program

The Illinois SBIR/STTR Match Program is a state-funded initiative designed to support small businesses that have successfully received federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants. The program provides matching grants to enhance these businesses' capabilities and foster their development. Administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), this program aims to strengthen innovation, create jobs, and boost Illinois' competitive edge in technology and research fields. The program supports eligible businesses by offering financial assistance to cover expenses that complement their SBIR/STTR projects, including technology development, commercialization, or expansion. With an estimated total program funding of $5,000,000, the initiative is projected to assist up to 100 businesses, providing a significant boost to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Illinois.
