2025 Community Development Block Grant

The Bucks County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides funding for projects that address housing, infrastructure, public services, and economic development needs, particularly for low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents. Approximately $2.1 million is anticipated for the 2025 program year, with $1.68 million allocated for public improvements, housing, and economic development initiatives. Eligible projects must align with HUD objectives, including benefitting LMI populations, addressing blight, or meeting urgent community needs. Eligible applicants include municipalities, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies operating in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Proposals must demonstrate community need, feasible implementation, compliance with federal guidelines, and alignment with Bucks County's Consolidated Plan objectives. Applicants must provide documentation of compliance with administrative requirements and commit to strict reporting and monitoring processes. Applications are due by February 5, 2025, at 4:00 PM, and must include a Core Application, Supplemental Applications for each project, a detailed budget, and a project timeline. Eligible projects include public service programs, public facility improvements, housing rehabilitation, and economic development activities. Some activities, such as administrative costs, maintenance, and new housing construction, are ineligible. Funding decisions will be based on project eligibility, sustainability, alignment with community needs, and applicant capacity. All funded projects must comply with HUD regulations, including environmental reviews, labor standards, and accessibility requirements.
