Grant Description

The Atchison Area United Way (AAUW) invites organizations to apply for partner agency status as part of its 2025 Partner Agency Program. By becoming a partner, agencies commit to collaborating with AAUW to further its mission in the Atchison community, including abiding by specific responsibilities that enhance transparency, accountability, and active participation in AAUW’s initiatives and events. Upon approval as a partner agency, organizations are required to provide AAUW with comprehensive organizational and program details, participate in on-site interviews, and submit relevant photos and information for promotional purposes. Additionally, each partner must submit updated program outcomes and expenditure reports by December 31st of the award year. These updates are essential to ensure AAUW can assess the impact of its funding accurately. In public communications, including publications, articles, and promotional materials about programs funded by AAUW, agencies must clearly identify themselves as AAUW partners by including the AAUW logo on printed materials and displaying an AAUW placard onsite at the agency. This branding requirement underscores the partnership and helps raise awareness of AAUW’s role in community support. Partner agencies are expected to actively participate in AAUW’s annual fundraising campaign, with agency representatives, including CEOs or presidents, engaging as advocates for AAUW’s mission within the community. Agencies must also attend AAUW partner meetings and work collaboratively with other partner agencies to achieve AAUW’s broader community goals. Participation in AAUW’s annual Leadership Breakfast and other key events is also expected. To maintain fundraising integrity and reduce competition during the peak campaign season, AAUW restricts partner agencies from conducting independent fundraising efforts from October 1 to December 31 without prior approval from the AAUW Board of Directors. This policy ensures a unified fundraising effort that maximizes support for all partner agencies.
