Individual Artist Grant
This funding opportunity provides financial support to individual artists in Northeast Florida to help them advance their careers through specific projects or activities.
The Individual Artist Grants offered by The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida aim to support artists in the region in advancing their careers. Established in 1990, the Art Ventures initiative has awarded more than 225 grants to individual artists and over 125 grants to small arts organizations. This particular funding opportunity is intended to assist artists in Northeast Florida as they work toward reaching the next stage in their artistic development. Each grant offers up to $5,000 and is specifically available to individual artists residing in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, or St. Johns County. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and legal residents of one of these counties for at least one year prior to applying. Grant funds are designated for projects or activities occurring within the grant period of December 15, 2025, through June 15, 2027. Expenses incurred before the start of the grant period are not eligible for funding. There are several important eligibility restrictions. Applicants cannot be students currently enrolled in or planning to enter an art-related degree program in the coming year. Additionally, curators, promoters, presenters, and festival organizers are ineligible; only practicing artists may apply. Previous grant recipients from the 2023 cycle are not eligible due to high demand. Artists are also limited to a maximum of three Individual Artist Grants over their lifetime and cannot receive them in consecutive cycles. Key dates for this cycle include an application opening date of April 29, 2025, and a closing date of June 24, 2025, at 5 PM. A virtual application workshop will be held via Zoom on May 22, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and a recording will be made available afterward. Notifications of grant decisions will be sent to applicants by December 4, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to consult examples of successful resumes, proposal statements, and budgets, which are available on the grant's website. The grant operates on a biennial cycle, meaning the next opportunity after this will open in 2027. For more information or assistance, applicants may contact Amy Palmer, the Program Director, at apalmer@jaxcf.org or by calling 904.356.4483.
