Grant Opportunity: TKPK Business Investment Grant (BIG) Funder: City of Takoma Park Award Details: The TKPK Business Investment Grant is designed to support businesses looking to locate, grow, or expand in the City of Takoma Park. The funds are intended for capital expenditures and hard costs related to new business fit-out or existing tenant improvements. Eligible uses include exterior property improvements, interior fit-out, capital equipment, and hard costs associated with activating a previously vacant commercial property. The grant awards will be made on a case-by-case basis as long as funds are available. Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the grant, applicants must be located in the City of Takoma Park and be in good standing with the State of Maryland and in compliance with all city, county, and state regulations. They must also have a valid Use & Occupancy Certificate and an actionable lease agreement or ownership deed to the property. Applicants should submit actionable quotes for all eligible project components. It's important to note that applicants may not apply for any work or expenses that began prior to the approval of their grant application. Application Process: Interested applicants can submit their applications and supporting materials through the TKPK Business Investment Grant web application. However, please note that acceptance of new applications is currently on pause until October 2023 due to existing application processing.
