Lindemann Legacy Fund
This grant provides financial support to New Jersey nonprofits that assist domestic violence survivors and their pets, helping them stay together during difficult times.
The Community Foundation of New Jersey (CFNJ) offers two grant programs to support area nonprofits: the Lindemann Legacy Fund and the Field Trip New Jersey Fund. These programs aim to assist vulnerable populations and enhance educational opportunities for students, respectively. The Lindemann Legacy Fund focuses on aiding domestic violence survivors and their pets, ensuring they can stay together during challenging times. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations in New Jersey that work with survivors and their pets in any capacity can apply. Grants do not require the organization to operate a domestic violence shelter. Initial Jumpstart Grants of $5,000 are available to increase organizational capacity for activities such as emergency pet care, planning for on-site pet housing, or related needs. Grant recipients are required to submit a follow-up report within six months detailing how the funds were used. Applications for Jumpstart Grants must be submitted via the CFNJ grant portal by December 31, 2024. Additional grantmaking opportunities, including funding for Pet Advocate positions, capital expenses, and ongoing support for survivors and their pets, will begin in January 2025.
