Grant Description

Grants are intended to support projects likely to have a major impact on community efforts in basic human needs and youth, located in or impacting a large segment of the population. Generally grants are awarded to proposals clearly focused on the support of the constituents of Manhattan and Riley County, Kansas. Please see the Community Arts Grants application for arts related proposals. Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations with a potential project should complete the online application that includes a letter of intent/interest to the GMCF for initial screening by the Deihl grants committee. The committee prefers that personnel costs to be covered by the non-profit. A subsequent interview of proposers may be requested. Schools and government agencies will not be considered. Organizations may apply in multiple quarters but will only be awarded one Deihl grant per calendar year. Typically, proposals should require awards exceeding $10,000. Proposals generally should NOT be made for projects requiring ongoing support from GMCF, although multi-year funding to reach an approved project total will be considered. The online application process is ongoing and can be submitted at any time throughout the year, with committee reviews taking place quarterly: The 2nd Quarter of 2024 committee review will take place on June 14, 2024. Applications must be submitted by June 7, 2024 to be considered at the 2nd Quarter review. Proposals for larger or more complex projects should include an especially detailed budget specifying the cost of each element of the project. The Deihl Community Grants - 2nd Quarter application period is now open. Applications will be accepted until 06/06/2025.
