Grant Description

The 2025 Leaders in Agriculture program by the Denver Business Journal seeks nominations to recognize prominent figures who have made significant contributions to Colorado's $40 billion agriculture industry. Nominees can represent any agricultural field, including but not limited to crop and livestock production, water management, education, biotechnology, agribusiness, and food production. The program celebrates individuals based in Colorado who are actively leading and influencing this critical sector, and past honorees are also eligible. Self-nominations are welcome, but organizations are limited to submitting three nominations per company. Eligible nominees must agree to participate in an online interview and attend the end-of-March presentation event to be honored publicly and featured in the Denver Business Journal’s weekly print edition and online. Public relations firms submitting nominations on behalf of clients should ensure they provide direct contact information for nominees and notify them of the submission. Judging criteria focus on the nominee's leadership in promoting or enhancing Colorado’s agriculture industry and their community involvement, such as board service, volunteering, and participation in professional or civic organizations over the past five years. Nominees should demonstrate tangible influence within both the agriculture sector and the wider community. For a strong nomination, submitters are encouraged to focus on impactful, quantifiable achievements rather than general praise or lengthy resumes. Judges look for stories that clearly convey the nominee's professional impact and avoid redundancy. Specific metrics, such as revenue generated or percentage growth achieved due to the nominee's initiatives, should be highlighted. Additionally, external links are discouraged as they will be removed from submissions. Selected nominees will receive recognition in the Denver Business Journal’s March 28 edition and enjoy a formal networking event for honorees, providing a valuable platform for meeting other business leaders and potential partners. The deadline for submissions is January 13, 2025, and all nominations must be submitted through the official website. For nomination inquiries, contact Jan Wambolt, Event Director, and for sponsorship details, reach out to Drew Schrimsher, VP of Sales.
