Grant Description

The Women’s Giving Alliance (WGA) is accepting applications for its 2025 grant cycle, focusing on initiatives that address violence against women and girls. The application process, which is open to eligible nonprofit organizations, runs from December 2, 2024, to January 16, 2025, with grant decisions finalized by May 2025 and funding beginning on July 1, 2025. WGA emphasizes a collaborative approach, learning from grantees to enhance their support for women and girls in Northeast Florida. The primary goal of WGA’s 2025 grant program is to combat violence against women and girls through prevention, recovery, and empowerment initiatives. The funding aims to help girls feel safer and more empowered in various environments, educate the community about violence, expand short-term services like shelters, and offer long-term support for self-sufficiency and independence from abusive situations. Proposed projects must align with these objectives to be considered. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or have a formal agreement with a fiscal sponsor and have a minimum of two years of operational history. The program targets services provided exclusively to women and girls within the counties of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, or St. Johns in Florida. Two grant types are offered: one-year grants of up to $10,000 for nonprofits with annual operating budgets under $250,000, and two-year grants ranging from $50,000 to $125,000. The grant application process requires submission through WGA’s online portal, and templates for project budgets and blank applications for reference are available. A Q&A session for applicants will be held on December 6, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a recording accessible afterward. Submissions close at 11:59 p.m. on January 16, 2025, followed by a detailed review process involving multiple committees and membership ratification. Evaluation criteria prioritize alignment with WGA’s mission, program impact, feasibility, and the applicant’s ability to execute the proposed project effectively. Applicants should prepare comprehensive responses to all sections of the application and submit a detailed budget. Final decisions will be communicated after ratification by WGA membership on May 20, 2025. For additional support, organizations can contact Nikki Sabol, WGA Director, at NSabol@jaxcf.org or 904-356-4483. Applicants are encouraged to thoroughly review instructions and templates and ensure their proposals are clear, focused, and submitted on time. More information about the application process and WGA’s focus areas can be found through the provided contact details and resources.
