Grant Description

The 2024 Annual Neighborhood Grant, available from October 1 to December 8, 2024, at 3 p.m., offers up to $5,000 for neighborhood projects that improve quality of life through citizen-government partnerships. Eligible applicants include Neighborhood Associations, Homeowner Associations, Neighborhood Watch groups, and similar neighborhood groups in Montgomery County. Projects should focus on fostering self-management, neighborhood pride, and communal beautification. Grants require a matching contribution, which can be monetary or in-kind, and applications are evaluated based on factors like project feasibility, available funding, community support, and demonstrated need. Ineligible applicants—such as individuals, businesses, universities, and churches—may partner with eligible groups, but the eligible applicant must lead the project. Qualifying projects must occur within Montgomery County (excluding certain educational trips) and align with grant program categories, with an emphasis on community benefit as determined by the Neighborhood Services Advisory Committee.
