Grant Description

The North Carolina Department of Environment Quality’s Division of Coastal Management (DCM) is accepting applications for approximately $170,000 in funding under the North Carolina Marine Sewage Pumpout Station Grant Program. This program, funded through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Clean Vessel Act (CVA), provides financial assistance to marinas (private and commercial), gas/service docks, fish houses, seafood dealers, and other boat docking facilities for installing or renovating pumpout stations in the 20 coastal counties. The aim is to improve water quality by reducing sewage discharge from recreational vessels. Financial assistance is provided as matching grants up to $20,000, requiring a minimum of 25 percent match from the recipients. The application period runs from May 21, 2024, to May 21, 2025.
