Grant Description

The District of Columbia Department of Health (DC Health), through its Community Health Administration and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Bureau, announces a funding opportunity to support initiatives that reduce tobacco use and improve asthma health outcomes. This initiative will utilize academic detailing as a personalized, interactive educational outreach method targeted at healthcare professionals, particularly those in primary care and behavioral health. The selected applicant will develop jurisdiction-specific educational resources related to asthma control and tobacco cessation and implement a series of academic detailing visits. These visits will promote evidence-based best practices among healthcare professionals across the District. This opportunity, identified as FO# CHA-TobAsth-5.23.25, will provide a total of $300,000 in annual funding, with individual awards ranging between $275,000 and $300,000. Only one award is expected. Matching funds are not required. The grant is federally funded under CFDA# 93.070, authorized by the FY26 Budget Support Act of 2025 and Section 317(k)(3) of the Public Health Service Act. The associated Federal Award ID is 6 NUE1EH001500-01-01. Eligible applicants include nonprofit and for-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, research centers, and 501(c)(6) healthcare professional membership organizations. Individuals are not eligible. All applicants must be registered in the federal System for Award Management (SAM) and have an active Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) to apply via DC Health's Enterprise Grants Management System. Applications will open on May 23, 2025, and must be submitted by July 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. The full Request for Applications (RFA), including detailed submission instructions and evaluation criteria, will be released separately.
