Grant Description

The New Jersey Devils Enrich Program, launched by Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), aims to support small business owners in New Jersey, especially those from marginalized communities who face systemic barriers in their entrepreneurial journeys. This program seeks to empower diverse businesses by providing essential resources, networking opportunities, and growth support to help overcome challenges that have historically hindered their success. HBSE's initiative is part of a broader effort that began in 2020 to address social and economic inequities and promote the growth of local businesses. The Enrich Program offers several key benefits to participants. One grand-prize winner will be named an official partner of the New Jersey Devils for the 2024-25 NHL season, receiving comprehensive marketing, business consultation, and visibility support from the team. This partnership package is designed to boost the winner’s reach and business growth through tailored services, expert consultation, and exclusive networking opportunities. Additionally, two other businesses will each receive a $10,000 cash prize to support their development. All participating business owners will also have access to shared resources and networking events to connect with other entrepreneurs and stakeholders. To be eligible for the program, businesses must be independent, non-franchised entities that are founded or operate within New Jersey. They must also be formally incorporated and should clearly articulate how they have navigated or overcome systemic challenges in their business journey. This narrative will be an important factor in the selection process, as HBSE aims to identify businesses that align with its mission of dismantling barriers and fostering growth in underrepresented communities. The selection process for the Enrich Program will be conducted by HBSE staff, who will evaluate applications based on several factors, including the business’s readiness for growth, innovation, and alignment with the program’s mission. Applicants are automatically considered for both the grand prize and the $10,000 cash awards. Winners will be notified in November 2024, and they will benefit not only from the direct financial and marketing support but also from the broader platform provided by the New Jersey Devils, which includes exposure to their extensive fan base. Since 2020, the New Jersey Devils and HBSE have supported over 450 small businesses through various initiatives, helping to address the inequities affecting local entrepreneurs and connecting them to a wider network. The Enrich Program marks an expansion of these efforts, with the goal of reaching even more underrepresented businesses and providing them with the resources they need to thrive. Business owners interested in applying can find more information, including the detailed eligibility criteria and application process, through the program's online platform.
