Artist Residency Grant

The Delaware Division of the Arts offers Artist Residency grants aimed at engaging students actively in the creative process with a professional artist. This program supports visual, literary, performing, or media artists working with students under teacher supervision in classrooms or through professional development workshops with teachers. The grant emphasizes integrating arts into the classroom learning or teacher workshops, aligned with Delaware’s Visual and Performing Arts Standards. The residencies focus on providing new arts knowledge and skills, enhancing classroom learning, and facilitating teaching opportunities for artists. Eligible applicants include Delaware Pre K-12 public, charter, private, and parochial schools with established arts curriculum and staff, as well as not-for-profit agencies in Delaware serving preschool students. The grant covers up to 75% of artist fees with a cap of $250/day for individual artists or $350/day for groups, encouraging a minimum of three-day residencies. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, at least six weeks prior to the residency start date, with a streamlined review process ensuring decisions within four weeks of submission.
