Grant Description

The Impact100 Greater Milwaukee grant program provides funding to nonprofit organizations for projects that create meaningful benefits within the community. Eligible organizations must serve residents of Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, or Waukesha County, ensuring grant funds are used to improve the lives of people in these areas. The program focuses on funding specific, impactful initiatives that align with its mission to foster positive change. To qualify, organizations must have held 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status for at least 36 months before applying and report annual revenues between $300,000 and $7 million on their IRS Form 990 for the past three years. Applicants are also required to provide three years of independently prepared financial statements, either audited or reviewed, and have current corporate and charitable licenses with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. Grant recipients must expend awarded funds within 24 months, and organizations that receive a $100,000 grant must wait three years before reapplying. Eligible projects must align with one of five focus areas: Arts & Culture, enhancing the artistic and cultural climate; Education, improving educational opportunities; Environment & Revitalization, preserving and revitalizing spaces or promoting conservation and animal welfare; Health & Wellness, addressing mental or physical health needs; or Family, strengthening the lives of children, adults, and families. Projects should be new initiatives, expansions of existing programs, or collaborative efforts and must target specific populations with measurable goals. The program does not fund general operating expenses, debt reduction, legal fees, or political activities. Additionally, religious projects benefiting only an organization’s members, fund drives, and capital campaigns unrelated to specific projects are ineligible. Each organization may submit one application annually. This funding opportunity is an excellent resource for nonprofits seeking to implement transformative projects that align with Impact100’s focus areas and commitment to community betterment. For the latest updates, organizations should monitor program guidelines.
