Grant Description

The Field Hall Foundation, based in New York, supports initiatives aimed at improving the lives of older adults and their caregivers, particularly within Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester Counties. Its mission prioritizes addressing the basic needs of low-income individuals aged 60 and above, as well as unpaid caregivers. The Foundation provides both full-sized and small grants, with this opportunity specifically focusing on small grants of up to $15,000. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations and local units of government operating within the three designated counties. Priority is given to projects that directly impact older adults and caregivers, especially programs addressing food insecurity, home-based care, respite services, safety, social work, case management, and transportation. Proposals addressing other related focus areas may also be considered with appropriate justification. Applicants are required to complete a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) and a cover sheet, using a specific format: black, 12-point Times New Roman font, limited to two pages for the LOI plus the cover sheet. The LOI must be submitted as a Word document or a read/write PDF. Submissions not adhering to these formatting guidelines will not be accepted. The LOI must be emailed to Program Officer Patti Lavan Horvath at phorvath@fieldhallfdn.org by June 5, 2025. Application materials must include an introduction to the applicant organization, outlining its mission, staffing, uniqueness, recognitions, and services. The proposal should also address the need in the community, how the project will address it, the number of people impacted, overall funding, and how the requested funds will be allocated. The grant period runs from November 2025 to October 2026, though applicants may request an alternative timeline with justification. Previous recipients may apply again only if one year has passed since the last grant was received and the final report has been submitted and accepted. Typically, due to the volume of grants awarded, the Foundation does not consider repeat applicants until approximately two years after a previous grant has been issued. For questions or to discuss potential proposals, applicants may contact Patti Lavan Horvath at 914-813-9103 or via the email provided.
