City of Palm Desert Community Development Block Grant Program

The City of Palm Desert is accepting applications for its Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, with an anticipated funding of approximately $365,000 from HUD. The program supports projects benefiting very low to moderate-income residents, including seniors, the developmentally disabled, victims of domestic violence, and the homeless. Eligible activities encompass park development, public facility improvements, energy efficiency projects, housing, and community service programs. Allocations will be distributed as follows: 65% for capital improvement and housing projects, 15% for community service programs, and 20% for administrative purposes. Eligible applicants are tax-exempt California nonprofit organizations providing or planning to provide CDBG-eligible services to Palm Desert residents during the fiscal year, from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The application period runs from October 1, 2024, to November 15, 2024, with submissions only accepted through the online portal. Applications will be reviewed by the City’s Outside Agency/Charitable Contributions Committee in December 2024, followed by City Council approval on January 23, 2025. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis, requiring detailed receipts upon project completion.
