Grant Description

The Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay, established through the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, provides grants to programs that expand opportunities for women and girls in Northeast Wisconsin. Since 1995, the fund has awarded more than $1.5 million to initiatives that empower women, inspire girls, and strengthen communities. The fund welcomes applications from programs in Brown, Oconto, and Kewaunee counties, particularly those designed for women and girls aged 9-15. Funding priorities include programs that foster self-esteem and leadership, address unique challenges faced by women and girls, and result in measurable, positive change. Imaginative and results-oriented projects are strongly encouraged, with an emphasis on sustainability and collaboration with other agencies. Programs must actively involve the women and girls served in the planning and implementation process. Grants are typically up to $20,000, with past recipients showcasing impactful projects tailored to community needs. Eligible applicants must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or be a governmental, educational, or religious organization. Programs must operate without discrimination and cannot represent “half” of a co-ed initiative unless they specifically promote healthy relationships that benefit women and girls. The fund does not support individuals, capital projects, debt reduction, fundraising events, religious activities, or lobbying efforts. Funding is limited to activities occurring after the grant is awarded and within the designated counties. Applications are reviewed biannually during the Summer Cycle (May 1 - July 1) and Winter Cycle (November 1 - January 11). Decisions are announced within 8-10 weeks after each deadline. Applicants are encouraged to consult with Kari Olsen, Director of Grants and Scholarship Programming, before submitting their application. Grant recipients must complete a brief final report detailing the outcomes and impact of their project. This funding opportunity is ideal for organizations dedicated to advancing the well-being and success of women and girls in the region, aligning with the fund’s mission to empower and inspire future generations.
