Grant Description

The K-12 Math Personalized Learning Software Grant provides public educational institutions, including school districts and charter schools, with access to personalized learning software designed to enhance mathematics instruction. The grant aims to support students in grades 3-12 by offering high-quality, adaptive technology that supplements traditional math education rather than replacing it. The selected software programs generate customized lessons based on individual student abilities, improving overall mathematics literacy. Evaluations have demonstrated a statistically significant correlation between the use of these software programs and increased student proficiency in mathematics. This funding opportunity is intended to provide adaptive and personalized instructional math technology to enhance classroom instruction. Given the limited legislative funding available for this initiative, the STEM AC aims to distribute licenses as effectively as possible. To maximize the impact, applicants are encouraged to be intentional about the number of licenses requested. Educators must ensure that students engage with the software for at least 30-50 minutes per week on average and that teachers utilize the generated data to inform instruction on a weekly basis. Only public educational institutions are eligible to apply, and applications must be prepared at the school or district administrative level. Students participating in the program (grades 3-12) must complete a math interest survey, while teachers are required to complete a mid-year survey to evaluate the program's effectiveness. Parents will receive a letter of information about the evaluation process, allowing them the option to decline their child's participation in data collection. The grant application process opens on February 1, 2025, and the final submission deadline is March 31, 2025. Teacher and student surveys must be submitted by May 15, 2025. No surveys are required for this year. If awarded licenses are not actively utilized within the first 60 days of the academic year, they may be reallocated to schools or districts seeking additional licenses. Applicants can access additional resources, including a how-to-apply video guide, an electronic signature guide for administrators, and a report on best practices for blended learning in mathematics.
