Grant Description

The Green Building and Resilient Housing Grant encourages sustainable building practices and resilient housing design and construction. FY25 offers $100,000, with up to $56,000 designated for projects participating in the Living Building Challenge. The recently expanded Green Grants Program focuses on innovative initiatives and projects that contribute to sustainability, natural resource protection, conservation, and restoration. Projects led by or focusing on women, youth, and traditional native Hawaiian practices are highly encouraged. Approximately $1.7 million in competitive funding is available, with an additional $3.3 million allocated for managing invasive species, protecting wetlands, predator control at seabird colonies, and coastal water quality monitoring. Eligible applicants include individuals, for-profits, and nonprofits. Proposals must be submitted electronically by July 29, 2024.
