Program: Alma Gibbs Donchian Foundation Grant Opportunity Funder: Alma Gibbs Donchian Foundation Award Details: Grants generally range from a few thousand dollars up to $20,000. In unique circumstances, the Foundation might consider a more significant grant for a program having a major impact in one or more of its areas of interest. Eligibility: All applicants must have tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status as a non-profit organization as defined by the IRS (churches & schools excepted). Of particular interest are organizations that promote partnerships and collaborative efforts among multiple groups and organizations. The applicant must have an active board of directors with policy-making authority and demonstrate competence in sound financial management. Application Process: Applications are accepted throughout the year. Grant applications are reviewed for completeness by the Foundation's staff and then forwarded to the Foundation's Directors prior to quarterly board meetings. Applicants may be declined, approved, requested additional information, scheduled for a site visit, or invited for an interview. Declined applicants may re-apply no sooner than the next calendar year unless there are significant changes in the request. Areas of Exclusion: The Foundation generally does not provide grants to organizations not determined to be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, individuals, government agencies, international organizations, or organizations that rely mainly on third-party funding without efforts to attract private funding. Additional Information: The foundation uses a rolling deadline for applications. Funding ranges from $2,000 up to $20,000. Multi-year commitments are generally not approved beyond three years.
