Youth United Grant 2025

Youth United, an initiative of the Park City Community Foundation, provides grants to local organizations dedicated to ensuring equitable access to sports, recreation, and extracurricular activities. This grant program prioritizes Latinx and BIPOC youth participation, aiming to reflect the diversity of the Park City and Summit County communities. By addressing barriers such as financial constraints, lack of equipment, communication challenges, and the need for cultural inclusion, Youth United fosters engagement, connection, and a sense of belonging for all children and teens in the area. The grant program is designed to increase participation in extracurricular activities by removing systemic barriers that prevent marginalized communities from engaging. Funding may be used to provide scholarships for youth participation, cover the costs of necessary equipment and gear, and support program staff, outreach activities, and general operations. Collaborative applications from multiple organizations are encouraged to create a larger impact. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $25,000, with funding distributed either as a lump sum or in multiple disbursements. The Youth United Steering Committee, composed of community members and at least one board member from the Park City Community Foundation, evaluates applications based on strategic approach, potential impact, commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), and a well-structured project budget. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or operate under a fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status. Organizations must serve residents of Summit County, with priority given to those based in and primarily serving the county. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The program does not fund debt reduction, political campaigns, one-time events, fellowships, or litigation. Applications for the 2025 grant cycle open on January 13, 2025, with a deadline of February 14, 2025. An optional information session is available for applicants on January 28, 2025. Funding decisions will be announced by March 14, 2025. Organizations receiving funding must adhere to publicity guidelines, acknowledging the support of Youth United in promotional materials.
