Grant Description

The Parkinson’s Foundation Community Grants Program funds local programs that promote the health, wellness, and education of individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease (PD) across the United States. Since its inception in 2011, the Foundation has invested over $11.5 million to support 879 community-based programs, benefitting people with Parkinson’s in 40 states. In the past three years alone, the program has awarded more than $4 million to community-focused initiatives. For the 2025 grant cycle, the Foundation seeks programs that are impactful, sustainable, scalable, and measurable. Eligible programs should expand or create access for underserved populations and must align with at least one of the following focus areas: Addressing the intersection of mental health and Parkinson’s disease. Supporting care partners of individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Delivering or educating others on exercise programs specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s. Eligible applicants include nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations, healthcare facilities, and for-profit entities offering programs at no cost. However, the grants will not fund salaries, capital expenses, exercise equipment, administrative costs, travel, or individual memberships. A complete list of restrictions is available in the program's FAQ or by contacting Programs@Parkinson.org. Applications are submitted via ProposalCentral, where applicants must create an account to access the Community Grant application. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 31, 2025, with award notifications expected in late June or early July 2025. The grant period runs from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. For questions or further guidance, applicants are encouraged to contact the Foundation at Programs@Parkinson.org or participate in an upcoming webinar to learn more about the application process. This program represents a vital opportunity to enhance local resources for the Parkinson’s community while promoting health equity and inclusion.
