Grant Description

The DC Department of Health (DC Health) is offering a grant to establish a Youth Peer Sexual Health Program targeting youth aged 13-24 in Washington, D.C. Through a peer-based model, the program aims to educate and support youth in preventing HIV, STIs, and unintended pregnancies, while promoting health literacy and equity. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, located and licensed in the District, with experience serving youth populations. One award of up to $150,000 is anticipated, covering a period beginning January 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025. The program will focus on recruiting peer educators, providing access to HIV/STI testing, contraceptive education, and primary health care referrals, and creating safe spaces for youth engagement. Applications are due by December 2, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., through the DC Health Enterprise Grants Management System (EGMS). Applicants must submit required eligibility documents, a project narrative, budget, and work plan, demonstrating cultural competency and readiness to address health disparities among youth.
