The Flint ReCAST Mini-Grant Program is now accepting proposals for 2025. This grant initiative, part of the Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma (ReCAST) program, is focused on supporting youth-serving programs that enhance resilience, equity, and trauma-informed practices within the Flint community. The program aims to provide financial assistance to organizations that empower youth and families in Flint through initiatives that promote positive development, mental health awareness, and trauma-informed care. The grant awards range from $5,000 to $25,000, with the application period opening on February 18, 2025, and closing on March 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Funded programs will be supported during the funding period from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025. Eligible projects must align with one of two primary goals: Youth Engagement & Positive Development, which includes activities such as mental health promotion, career development, and peer support, or Trauma-Informed & Behavioral Health Services, which encompasses resiliency training, mental health literacy, and self-care awareness. Organizations eligible to apply for the grant include nonprofits classified under section 501(c)(3), government agencies, academic institutions, and community-based organizations with a fiscal sponsor. However, the grant does not fund religious activities, lobbying efforts, capital projects, food and refreshments, or financial assistance such as loans or debt reduction. Prospective applicants can gain additional insights into the grant application process by attending the Flint ReCAST Information Session on February 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM. This session will provide an opportunity to learn more about eligibility requirements, the application process, and best practices for submitting a strong proposal. For any questions regarding the grant program, applicants can contact the Flint ReCAST team at ckelly@flint.org.
