Grant Description

The City of Canal Winchester is accepting applications for its 2025 Bed Tax Grant Program, funded through the city’s 6% Transient Occupancy Tax levied on lodging for transient guests. This grant program supports local nonprofits and private organizations working on projects that enhance the Canal Winchester community for residents and visitors. The funds are derived from half of the Bed Tax proceeds, with 1.5% of this portion allocated to Destination: Canal Winchester, the city’s official visitors bureau, and the remainder reserved for discretionary use by the City Council, including the Bed Tax Grant Program. Eligible applicants must be located within Canal Winchester and demonstrate that their projects align with the goals of enhancing community life or attracting tourism. Grant applications will be evaluated competitively based on program criteria and alignment with the program’s objectives. Applications are available on the City of Canal Winchester’s website and must be submitted by November 30, 2024, either by mail or email to the Finance Director. Award decisions will be made by the City Council in December, with funds disbursed in early 2025. All awarded funds must be used within the 2025 calendar year. For additional information or application assistance, applicants can contact Amanda Jackson, Finance Director, at 614-837-6937 or ajackson@canalwinchesterohio.gov.
