Grant Description

The Asian Community Fund (ACF) at the Boston Foundation has opened its 2025 grant application cycle, with applications due by Monday, May 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM. ACF is the first and only philanthropic fund in Massachusetts dedicated to supporting the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Established in 2020, ACF works to unify diverse ethnic groups within the AAPI community, foster partnerships, and build advocacy and visibility across Massachusetts. The 2025 funding cycle aims to strengthen the broader AAPI ecosystem and advance policy and systems change initiatives. ACF encourages proposals that promote cross-agency partnerships, deepen collaboration with other communities, and expand sustainable community impact beyond isolated events. Priority consideration will be given to organizations serving underrepresented AAPI ethnicities and geographic regions, those that have not previously received ACF or Boston Foundation funding, and nonprofits with annual operating budgets under $500,000. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in Massachusetts or have a qualified fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status. Applications will be evaluated based on mission alignment with ACF's strategic pillars—Convening, Catalyzing, and Capacity Building—and on the organization's track record of expanding AAPI visibility, collaboration, and community empowerment. Organizations funded by ACF in 2024 must provide a brief update on their use of the previous grant funds. Grant awards will primarily range from $5,000 to $15,000, although ACF reserves the discretion to award grants of different sizes. Funding will be granted for general operating support of organizations and projects serving the Massachusetts AAPI community. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by late June 2025. Applications must be submitted through the Boston Foundation’s new Grants Portal. Applicants should first attempt a password reset to access the system or register for a new account if necessary. Application instructions are detailed within the portal, and applicants must upload an organizational operating budget. For any questions regarding the grant application, applicants can contact Danielle Kim at danielle.kim@tbf.org. Further guidance is available at tbf.org/acf.
