Grant Description

The Hillsborough County FY26 Cultural Development Grant Program provides funding to nonprofit organizations for general program support, focusing on cultural programming that benefits the community. Eligible activities include public events and programs that enhance access and engagement, artistic and cultural vibrancy, and organizational capacity. Funding amounts depend on organizational revenue, with maximum awards ranging from $15,000 to $25,000. Applications open on January 6, 2025, and are due by January 24, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Submissions must be completed through the online grant portal. Applications are reviewed by the Arts Council Board and scored on criteria such as access, artistic vitality, and organizational capacity. Successful applications must score at least 80 points to be recommended for funding, and final award amounts may be prorated based on scoring and available funds. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations registered in Florida with a principal address in Hillsborough County. They must have operated for at least one or two years (depending on revenue level) and conducted a full season of programming in Hillsborough County. Applicants must match grant funds dollar-for-dollar with cash contributions; in-kind contributions are not allowed. Applications from municipalities, educational institutions, or fiscal agents are ineligible. Grant funds can be used for general program expenses during the grant period, October 1, 2025, to August 15, 2026, but not for capital projects, fundraising events, or activities restricted to organizational membership. Funds are provided on a reimbursement basis, and organizations must submit detailed financial documentation and participant data to request disbursement. Final reports, including audience demographics and evidence of compliance with crediting requirements, are due by September 30, 2026. Crediting requirements include displaying the Hillsborough County logo and acknowledging support from the County Board of Commissioners in promotional materials, events, and publications. Grantees must also provide access for County representatives to monitor funded activities and allow a County presence at events. A virtual grant workshop is scheduled for January 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Registration is required. For more details, application materials, and access to the grant portal, visit the Arts Council's website or contact their office.
