Community Fund 2025
This grant provides unrestricted funding to nonprofit organizations serving the greater Park City area, supporting a wide range of community needs such as arts, education, health, and environmental conservation.
Park City Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a lasting culture of philanthropy to benefit the people of greater Park City. One of its central initiatives is the Community Fund, established to provide unrestricted funding to local nonprofit organizations that contribute to the overall well-being of the community. The Community Fund aims to support efforts that enhance the quality of life in the area by strengthening nonprofit capacity and addressing critical community needs. The Community Fund Grants support a broad scope of activities and sectors within the community. Funding areas include arts and culture, education, sports and recreation, children and families, physical or mental health and human services, youth services, conservation and environment, housing security, and other community-based efforts. The grant provides unrestricted support which can be used for various purposes such as operating costs, equipment, startup costs, consulting services, technical assistance, research, measurement and evaluation, demonstration projects, capacity building, and matching grants. Joint applications from multiple organizations are permitted. The eligibility criteria are specific and clear. Organizations must serve people living or working in Summit County, Utah, though organizations in Wasatch County may also be considered, with priority given to those based in Summit County. Eligible applicants include those holding 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, those that have applied for such status and can provide the appropriate IRS receipt, or those operating under a fiscal sponsor that holds 501(c)(3) status with a documented agreement. Other entities undertaking charitable activities benefiting Summit County may also be considered but must contact the Community Foundation before applying and may be subject to additional reporting and disbursement requirements. Only one application per organization or alliance per cycle will be accepted. The Community Fund Grant application process is entirely online. The application period opens on June 9, 2025, with a submission deadline of July 11, 2025. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions on August 22, 2025, and the Grants Celebration is scheduled for September 10, 2025. All applications must be submitted through the designated online portal, and submissions via email or hard copy will not be accepted. For technical support, applicants may contact Minda Boland at [email protected]. Grant awards typically range between $2,500 and $15,000, although the Steering Committee retains the discretion to award grants outside this range. A small number of multiyear grants are available by invitation only, with an emphasis on alignment with the Foundation’s priorities and demonstrated impact. Existing multiyear grantees may submit a simple letter requesting continuation by July 11, 2025, instead of a full application. Grantees are required to submit a short report in the spring following their award, detailing successes, lessons learned, and future plans. Public recognition of grant support is expected in all relevant materials, and grantees must include a specific acknowledgment statement and logo as provided by the Community Foundation. The review process considers four main criteria: the applicant’s contribution to the local community, the potential for impact, equity and belonging practices, and organizational budget and financial health. The Foundation will not fund debt reduction, sponsorships, fellowships, loans, litigation, political campaigns, endowments, or academic research beyond the graduate level. Grants will not be awarded to organizations or activities that promote violence, discrimination, or harassment in any form. Selected application information may be shared publicly unless an organization specifically requests otherwise.
