This program provides funding to arts, nature, and cultural organizations in Alachua County to support events and activities that attract tourists and enhance the area's cultural vibrancy.

The Alachua County Visitors & Convention Bureau is accepting applications for its Nature and Culture Destination Enhancement Grants. An eligible event is one that its main purpose for the attraction of tourists as evidenced by the promotion of the activity or event to tourists. A tourist is a person who participates in trade or recreation activities outside of the county of his or her residence, or who rents transient accommodations as provided in the Act. Funding information Applicants are able to request funds based on operating revenues reported in the organization’s last filed 990. For applicants whose primary organizational purpose or mission is not to attract audience members, a separate event statement with direct expenses and revenues for the program is required. Eligibility Criteria  Applicants must fulfill the following at the time of application. Be a legally established arts, nature or culture organization. The operations, events and activities must be within the boundaries of Alachua County. The proposed event has as one of its main purposes the attraction of tourists as evidenced by the promotion of the event to tourists. Have documented IRS non-profit, tax-exempt status. A copy of Active Status from Sunbiz.org must be attached to the application. Institutions of higher education are eligible to apply for arts, nature or culture programs and events, within the request limit. Applications will not be accepted from organizations who have applied for Tourist Development funding through the Gainesville Sports Commission, Sponsorships, Local Sports Destination Enhancement Grants and Conference Grants in the same year. Have been operational for a minimum of three years prior to the application date and have previous experience implementing programs or services within Qualified Census Tracts or Healthy Food Priority Areas in St. Petersburg. Alternatively, an agency may collaborate with another non-profit agency that has been established for a minimum of three years prior to the application date and have previous experience implementing programs or services within Qualified Census Tracts or Healthy Food Priority Areas in St. Petersburg. Be in good standing regarding compliance with existing or past City grants, awards, or programs with no outstanding City debts or liens. The City of Orlando is offering a matching grant program, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, for schools and non-profit organizations to fund youth programs that enhance academic achievement, reduce crime, and promote safe communities, with funds being used for educational, athletic, civic engagement, or mentoring opportunities, excluding certain expenses like computers, office equipment, and in-school programs.

The Mayor’s Matching Grant program, funded by the City of Orlando, offers $500 to $5,000 in matched funding to neighborhood organizations for projects that enhance the neighborhood, such as beautification, crime prevention, and sustainability, with the aim to address community needs and improve quality of life.

The Santa Rosa Improvement Vitalization Enterprise (StRIVE) Grant is intended to provide commercial property owners and business owners grants for façade improvements and signage. The City of Wauchula is seeking applications for its Revitalization Grant Program to restore and improve commercial buildings within the Wauchula Community Redevelopment Agency District in an effort to improve the area in ways that contribute to the physical, economic, social and aesthetic well-being of the City of Wauchula. Work shall not begin prior to receipt of a fully executed grant agreement. All applications shall be reviewed on a case by case basis by the WCRA Board to determine if an application meets the intended program goals. Grants are paid as reimbursement. No funds shall be paid to the Applicant until the WCRA staff have received the official Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Completion and any other documentation required by the grant agreement with the WCRA. Only project construction costs are eligible for the grant program. Design and permitting costs are not eligible for the grant program. All incentivized development shall conform to the current edition of the City of Wauchula Land Development Code. When agreed upon, redeveloped parking located on private property will be owned by the private property owner but be designated for public use for the life of the WCRA. The Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area (GCRA), a Department of the City of Gainesville, is offering this “Downtown Event Program” to assist organizations and businesses with up to $5,000 of grant funds to enable event programming within Downtown Gainesville. Eligibility Requirements  To be eligible, the event must be within Downtown Gainesville. Event must take place on publicly owned spaces (ex: parks, roads, etc.). Funding is available to both not-for-profit organizations as well as businesses and other entities putting on an event within Downtown Gainesville. Government entities are not eligible for this Program. Funding is limited to events that do not already receive financial funding from the City. The City supplying in-kind services or waived fees does not count as financial funding in this context. The proposed event must not conflict with the City’s goals, core programs, and services. Program funding may be used for event-related expenses such as advertising, entertainment, equipment rental, rental of facilities, and/or security. Other funding uses may be granted if deemed during the application review and approval process to be in the Program’s spirit. The Applicant is required to provide general liability insurance documentation as part of the Application and must include it post-event when submitting for the grant reimbursement. The top needs have been identified as the following Childcare Utility Assistance Mental Health Services Rental Subsidy/Assistance Homeless Services Housing for Homeless Families Food Transitional Housing Eligibility Criteria Only the applications meeting the following criteria will be considered: The nonprofit agency is chartered or otherwise authorized to do business in the State of Florida for charitable purposes and exempted from the Federal income tax by the Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) for a minimum of three years. The purposes for which the nonprofit agency is organized provides benefits to Seminole County residents. The services or activities to be provided by the nonprofit agency, and funded with County funds, shall address community needs. Agencies providing services identified in the Community Needs Assessment will receive priority funding. The nonprofit agency shall have a governing board whose members serve without compensation and have no conflict of interest between their regular occupations and the services provided by the nonprofit. The nonprofit agency has bylaws or policies which describe the manner in which business is conducted, including management, audit, and fiscal policies and procedures, polices on nepotism, and policies on management of potential conflict of interest. The nonprofit has at least one year’s experience providing the service or activity for which the funds are requested or can otherwise demonstrate to the satisfaction of the County sufficient expertise to successfully carry out the service or activity. The nonprofit must be licensed and accredited in accordance with applicable requirements of Federal, State and County laws. The nonprofit agency may not use a funding agency or other third-party arrangement to meet program requirements for eligibility. Awarded funding cannot make up more than twenty-five (25) percent of an agency expenditures based on the prior year’s IRS 990 form. If the request exceeds twenty-five (25) percent, agency may still be funded, however, maximum award will not exceed the twenty-five (25) percent. Nonprofit must provide the previous year’s fundraising plan and a statement on future fundraising efforts. Only one application per agency will be considered. Grants will be made only to nonprofit agencies whose programs and activities benefit the residents of Seminole County. Prioritize black, women, indigenous, and persons-of-color owned agricultural operations Support the immediate acquisition of capital infrastructure and equipment to enhance the farm’s productive capability and financial expansion. Social service agencies that provide homeless services and/or homeless prevention services are invited to apply to take advantage of up to $100,000 in Social Action Funding grants from the City of St. Petersburg. Eligibility Requirements All organizations applying to the City for funding shall comply with the following: Agencies that provide HOMELESS PREVENTION SERVICES and/or HOMELESS SERVICES. Programs must use a “housing first” and low barrier approach. Priority for funding will be given to programs which provide services to families with minor children; programs providing services to unaccompanied youth and/or youth aging out of foster care; programs which provide services to elderly over 62 years; programs providing services to chronically homeless living on the street as defined by HUD; programs providing services to veterans; programs which provide services to persons experiencing domestic violence; as well as homeless prevention/diversion services. There will be no bonus points for MATCH and SOLE SOURCE. All agencies must enter client data into the Pinellas Homeless Management Information System.
