This program furthers the DOJs mission to uphold the rule of law, to keep our country safe, and to protect civil rights. With this solicitation, the Bureau of Justice Assistance seeks to fund organizations (awardees) to serve as financial intermediaries to community-based reentry programs (subawardees) and to provide support via an incubator model in order to increase capability and capacity within the subawardees’ organizations. For this solicitation, awardees are community-based organizations (CBOs) that are experienced at delivering reentry services, managing federal grants, administering subawards, and training others to do the same. Awardees will operate incubators—learning communities where subawardees can learn and grow—to help smaller CBOs enhance the delivery of reentry services and their operation management. Awardees will also have fiscal and administrative oversight of subawardees funding and projects. Subawardees are envisioned to be CBOs that are operating on a smaller scale and seeking to increase their organizational capacity and their capacity to deliver reentry services.

Community Arts Grants are being offered to small nonprofit arts organizations in Monterey County. These grants provide support for public arts and culture projects/programs with funding of up to $5,000 per year. Eligible organizations may receive one grant per year, provided they have submitted the final report for their previous grant before applying for a new one. Program Description: Community Arts Grants are available to small nonprofit arts organizations seeking support for public arts and culture projects/programs up to $5,000 per year. Organizations may only receive one grant per year and must have completed their previous grant’s final report before submitting a new application. Definition: An arts and cultural organization is defined as an entity with a primary purpose of providing arts, creative, or cultural programming/services. An applicant without nonprofit status may use a California-based Fiscal Sponsor with a federal 501(c) (3) designation to conduct work on a nonprofit project. (contact Action Council.) Planned project/program must be completed in Monterey County within one year of grant award; and Fiscal sponsor letter, letter of approval from your Board President/Chair or Group Leader and letters of recommendations need to be within 60 days of the application; and Reporting requirements for previous Arts4MC Community Arts grants have been met. Restrictions: Universities and colleges are limited to providing fiscal sponsorship for one arts program only. Grants may not support operating costs for the university or college, but must be applied to program and overhead costs of the applying entity. Grants may not be applied toward support for political or religious purposes, fundraisers for other organizations or causes, capital improvements, the purchase of equipment or real property, or projects already completed. City of Seattle: Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute Facility Grant (Washington) - The LHPAI Facility Grant supports public projects, opportunities, or events that celebrate and preserve African American and Diaspora performing arts and cultural legacies. It provides up to 40 hours of staffed building use for public arts or cultural events at LHPAI, with no monetary investment.
